Casting / Shoot Info
Synopsis: The John Browns, a left-wing terrorist group, raid a government detention center and kidnap Hollis Vander, the head of the Bureau of Security Enforcement (BSE). They take Vander to a secluded house to interrogate him. "The John Browns" is a dialogue-driven story that could easily be retrofitted into a play. Roughly 60-70% of the film will take place in a single house. The interrogation of Hollis is a clash of opposing viewpoints. The John Browns express their commitment to the resistance, and, as the interrogation continues, Hollis breaks down and describes his horrifying vision of a new fascist state. Although John Brown’s methods are shocking and unforgivable, their violence will gradually become more understandable as we learn about the characters.
