Casting actors for principal and background roles. "MANNERS" is a student short dramedy about a traditional Southern mother and her alternative teenage daughter as they wait for the daughter's first gynecologist appointment. The film explores the mother-daughter relationship, growing up, and generational expectations with both humor and heart.

Casting: Seeking two principal female actors for the roles of Joanne and Lily, as well as 5–8 background actors for a gynecologist waiting room scene. Local Savannah, GA talent preferred.

Production Type: Non-union SCAD student short film
Schedule: Approximately 10-hour shoot days
Compensation: Principal actors – $100/day. Background actors – $40/day. Rates are open to negotiation. Meals will be provided during production. Final scheduling and call times will be shared with selected cast.

Joanne’s alternative, independent daughter. Lily dresses primarily in black, wears heavy eyeliner, and is much less concerned with fitting the image her mother has imagined for her. She is sarcastic and strong-willed, but underneath her frustration, she wants her mother to listen to her and take her choices seriously.

Joanne genuinely loves her daughter, but struggles to understand Lily’s choices and pushes her toward the future she believes is best for her. Beneath her put-together exterior, Joanne carries the influence of her own mother and slowly realizes she may be repeating the same expectations she grew up with.
