An intimate, actor-driven ghost story with original live music. We are interested in performers with strong dramatic instincts, comedic timing, emotional restraint, and the ability to build deep chemistry through subtext and presence.
Breeze an original ghost story in one act with live music. After becoming recently widowed, Owen moves into a new house carrying belongings and unfinished plans of the husband he lost. He meets August Hale, a singer who died in 1962 and has remained in the house ever since. For the first time in decades, August is seen. Over the weeks, two men separated by generations, life and death end up forming an unexpected and deeply intimate connection. Through humor, music, grief and the things neither has said aloud, each forces the other to confront what it means to keep living, to be truly known, and eventually, to let someone go. Tender, funny and heartbreaking, Breeze explores grief, queer love, loneliness and the ways another person can change your life even when they cannot stay.
